Located in the Sahayadri Hills, near the west coast of India, Pune (180 31' N, 730 51' E) is a fascinating city with a healthy climate all year round. Pune is among the greenest urban areas in the country with more than 40% of its area under green cover.
Pune winters are cool, with bright sunny days and cool evenings. Summers are warm and monsoons are not too intense. Minimum winter temperatures, from the end of December to early January, can touch 6° Celsius.

Thus Pune city has been developed into a Pune metropolitan area, just equal to area to that of Greater Mumbai. It is located 192 Kms (by rail) and 160 kms (by road) from Mumbai.
